Two more die of Covid-19, 130 fresh cases confirmed, active cases climb to 705

Imphal: Manipur recorded two more Covid-19 related death cases and 130 more positive cases in 24 hours (Friday 4 pm – Saturday 4 pm) pushing the Covid-19 death cases to 383 and the active cases to 705.

The death cases belonged to Imphal East and West districts.

Two air passengers were tested positive for Covid-19 as 18 passengers were screened at Imphal airport. Cumulative number of Covid positive air passengers has risen to 89 in Manipur.

The positive cases from general population belonged to Imphal East (23), Imphal West (50), ‘Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (30), Uldirul (5), Kangpokpi (3), Churachandpur (2) and Chandel (5).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Covid-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, two persons aged 46 years (female, Imphal West) and 63 years (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively, it said.

Thirteen Covid-19 patients were discharged from home Isolation (12) and SHRI (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases spiked to 30,281 and the recovery rate fall to 96.40 percent.

Air passengers who travelled to Manipur on April 20, by Indigo Flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24 and on April 22 by Indigo Flight 6E-6181 in rows 2-10, Air India Flight AI-889 in rows 12-18 must inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately, the control room said.

Latest information says 123720 have been vaccinated against the contagion.

All above 45 years are advised to vaccinate immediately, it added.
