Smuggling of timber worth over Rs 10 crore foiled

Imphal: ​Shangshak Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) foiled smuggling of timber near Bungdung village in Kamjong of Manipur on Sunday.

The timber assessed to be worth Rs 10.56 crore was recovered from eight vehicles.

​The eight drivers were apprehended and they along with the timber were handed over to Kasom Khullen Police station for further legal action, the Assam Rifles said.
