DDAM condoles demise of wheel chair basketball player Ibomcha

Imphal: The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) has condoled the untimed demise of Khwairakpam Ibomcha, the first national team player of Wheelchair Basketball Association of Manipur (WBAM), on Sunday.

Ibomcha Singh, son of Kh. Kritijam Singh of Awang Sekmai Mayai Leikai, was key member of the development association. Despite being differently challenged, Ibomcha participated in fairs and awareness programmes. He became a national player rather than hiding in his house proving that persons with disabilities also have their rights in the society like that of those abled persons.

General Secretary DDAM and WBAM MD Yunus Khan in a press statement released on Monday said the untimed demise of Ibomcha is a big loses for all the persons with disabilities of the state. The contribution and sacrifice he made through DDAM and WBAM for all the disabilities for full implement of RPWD Act 2016, separate directorate for disabilities and many more will always remembered, he added.

Members of DDAM and teams of CRAFDU Yairipok observed a 1-minute silence and shares the grief of the bereaved family members of the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode, the release said.
