13 more die of Covid-19, 380 more positive


Imphal: Thirteen Covid-19 patients succumbed and 380 persons were confirmed as new cases in 24 hours in Manipur.

Manipur Covid-19 common control room on Thursday said in the last 24 hours, 13 persons aged 40 years (male, Imphal East), 55 years (male, Churachandpur), 67 years (male, Kakching), 63 years (female, Bishnupur), 45 years (male, Imphal West), 55 years (male, Imphal West), 46 years (male, Bishnupur), 52 years (female, Imphal West), 78 years (male, Imphal East), 80 years (male, Imphal East), 50 years (male, Imphal West), 66 years (male, Imphal East) and 75 years (male, Imphal West) expired at Bal Bhavan (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (1), Jivan Hospital (1), RAJMED (1), Shija Hospital (2), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (3) hospital respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 447, it added.

The fresh positive cases belonged to Imphal East (116), Imphal West (170), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (23), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (29), Tamenglong (5), Senapati (1), Kangpokpi (4), Noney (I) and CAPF (18).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

Thirty-three Covid-19 patients were discharged from home isolation (14), RIMS (8) RD Wing (1), Bal Bhavan (2) and SHRI (8).

Till date Manipur has 33,733 cumulative positive cases including 2991 active cases. The recovery rate dropped to 89.80 percent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 677 D-type oxygen cylinders and 516 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 3 by Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 12-18 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance officers for further surveillance and necessary testing, the control room said.

No air passenger was found positive for Covid-19 when tested 17 passengers at Imphal airport.

Latest information says 242359 persons have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19.
