Manipur government takes up measures to assist state people in Delhi

Imphal: The state government has taken several measures through Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi to assist the population from Manipur residing in Delhi and NCR.

An oxygen cylinder bank with 10 cylinders has been opened at the Bhawan. It will provide oxygen to needy patients through student organisations against medical prescription or report. The Delhi government has made arrangements for filling of the cylinders and the Bhawan authority will assist the state natives whenever required, a DIPR press release said.

Some cylinders were issued through student organisations like KSO, Zillai, Tangkhul Students’ Union, NSUD, ZSUD, etc.

Manipur Bhawan has also provided 200 oxymetres, N95 masks and sanitizers to student bodies for community use. Tele consultation facility has been provided through the Medical Officer of Manipur Bhawan. Moreover, Covid helpline numbers of Manipur and RIMS mental health helpline number have been shared to facilitate consultation in the vernacular language.

To facilitate home based RT-PCR tests, Manipur Bhawan has tied up with a private diagnostic laboratory which has also agreed to provide discount to all the Manipur residents of Delhi. Manipur Bhawan is in constant contact with the community through student organisations for any assistance.

“To assist our people in Delhi, Manipur Bhawan has arranged for setting up oxygen cylinder bank with 10 cylinders and refilling assistance. Distributed 200 oxymeters, besides masks and sanitizers. For covid test prior to booking flight tickets, RTPCR home sample collection has been arranged through private lab @ Rs 1000 instead of approved rate of Rs.1200. Other possible assistance is being explored,” chief minister N. Biren Singh writes on his Facebook wall.

“The needs of the people were assessed yesterday in a VC meeting held between RC and 18 student organizations in Delhi. For the benefit of our communities, RC also conducted an orientation programme on Delhi government portal for allotment of beds, oxygen filling, e pass, etc,” he said.
