Council seeks police action against ‘fake’ exams cancellation notice

Imphal: Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has made a complaint to state police against circulation of ‘fake’ notification that the Class XI and XII Examinations, 2021 have been cancelled.

The council in a press statement released on Monday said it found a notification dated May 9 purported to be issued by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur regarding cancellation of Class XI and XII Examinations, 2021, being circulated through internet and social media.

It clarified that the notification was a fake and fabricated document and the same has not been issued by the council.

The matter has been reported to the concerned police authorities for registration of FIR and necessary investigation, it added.

The Class XI and XII Examinations, 2021 are being postponed for the time being in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation and any decision for cancellation of the examinations or otherwise are yet to be taken, the release said.

The council condemned ‘such irresponsible actions’ affecting the lives of all students and parents involved including their mental health and wellbeing during this horrible Covid-19 situation.

It advised to all concerned that any official notification or information by the council shall be uploaded in the official website – www.cohsem.nic.in. and also circulated in the local daily newspapers.

Any unreliable information through unofficial channels or social media be treated with caution, the release said.
