Imphal: Khuga Battalion under the aegis of IGAR East of Spear Corps busted a smuggling bid and recovered a cache of weapon, ammunition and grenades near border village of L Kanan in Singhat sub-division, Churachandpur district, Manipur on May 6.
Based on reliable intelligence inputs, Security forces laid an operation near general area L Kanan. On carrying out a detailed search of the area, a sack containing one AK-56 Rifle along with two Chinese grenades and wide variety of ammunitions was recovered, the Assam Rifles said on Monday.
The recoveries were handed over to police, it added.
