Imphal: BJP Manipur president prof. S. Tikendra Singh succumbed to Covid-19 on Thursday.
“I’m at a loss of word to learn that Prof. S Tiken Singh, President BJP Manipur, had passed away just a while ago. We have lost a stalwart of BJP Manipur who have dedicated his life for the service of people and the party. A former Professor, who have worked tirelessly with selfless devotion towards the ideology of BJP, was loved by one and all in Manipur,” chief minister N. Biren Singh writes on his Facebook wall.
“My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May your soul rest in peace Oja. Om Shanti !” Biren writes.
Tiken was confirmed positive on April 27 and he was treated at Shija Hospital, Imphal.
BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda twits “Shri S Tikendra Singh was a dedicated leader, who was always committed to strengthen the BJP in Manipur. He worked tirelessly for the betterment of society. Pained by his untimely and unfortunate demise. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this sad hour. Om Shanti!”
Tikendra was appointed president of BJP Manipur in June last year.
