Covid-19 takes 10 lives, infects 560

Imphal: Covid-19 has claimed 10 more lives and infected 560 in 24 hours, while 253 patients were recovered in Manipur.

In the last 24 hours, 10 persons aged 56 years (male, Imphal East), 65 years (male, Imphal West), 52 years (male, Imphal West), 58 years (female, Imphal East), 62 years (male, Ukhrul), 62 years (female, Imphal West), 41 years (male, Imphal East), 68 years (male, Imphal East), 57 years (male, Imphal East), and 64 years (male, Senapati) expired at Raj Medicity (2), Shija Hospital (2), DH Ukhrul (1), RIMS (4) and JNIMS (1) hospital respectively, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said on Thursday evening.

The cumulative number of deaths is 536, it added.

The positive cases belonged to Imphal East (122), Imphal West (263), Thoubal (21), Bishnupur (45), Kakching (17), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (45), Chandel (9), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (5), Kangpokpi (12), Kamjong (3), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (1) and CAPF (5).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

A total of 253 Covid-19 patients were discharged from CAPF (6), home isolation (199), RIMS (9), RD Wing (6), CCC Bishnupur (5), CCC Kakching (3), CCC Jiribam (1), CCC Ukhrul (8), CCC NSU (5) and CCC Churachandpur (11).

The cumulative number of positive cases has hit 37,596 mark. The number of active cases reached 5569. The recovery rate was reduced to 83.76 percent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1068 D-type oxygen cylinders and 407 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

So far 291152 persons have been vaccinated in Manipur.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 12 by Air India AI-713 in rows 17-23, on May 10 by Air India AI-713 in rows 10-16 and on May 3 by 6E-6034 in rows 24-30 and 6E-2615 in rows 26-31 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance Ooficers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing, te control room said.
