Vaccination for 18-44 age group to launch on May 17 in Manipur


Imphal: Vaccination against Covid-19 for people of the age range of 18-44 will begin on Monday, Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh declared on Friday.

One has to register at or Aarogya Setu App or UMANG app to book vaccination slots.

According to the number of registration Centre provides the vaccines. Manipur has received vaccine doses of 39, 000. A list of those who are to be vaccinated, as per the registration, will be notified, Biren said.

The chief minister appealed to those who have no logged in the registration sites to log in.

He urged the youth to assist people at their surroundings who might need help in registering himself/herself for vaccination.

About 3, 50, 000 people of Manipur have been vaccinated for first dose, he said.

The vaccination is continuing at the average of 8-9 thousands per day. Mass vaccination will go on, he added.

For those places which have no health centres, vaccination centres will be settled after discussion with the concerned MLAs and DCs, Biren informed.
