Imphal: Manipur government provides medicines and oximeters free of cost to home isolated Covid-19 patients in the state.

“Our Covid hero, the frontline warriors respected doctors and nurses visiting house to house for distribution of Mmdicines and pulse oximeter to home isolated Covid patients in various parts of the state. All free of cost. My sincere salute to all of you,” chief minister N. Biren Singh said as he posts pictures of the distribution on his Facebook wall.

The health care workers also checks health conditions of patients at isolation homes.

Presenting an account on how the Manipur government is ramping up its healthcare infrastructure, the chief minister earlier posted that the number of doctors and nurses has been increased; all available oxygen plants are running in full swing; two new oxygen plants at Thoubal and Churachandpur to be ready by this month; Cryogenic oxygen plants coming up in a months time; three new ambulances to be provided in each of the six major hill districts; decided to set up oxygen plants with a production capacity of 200 cylinders per day in each of the six major hill districts; and oximeters and medicines to each and every home isolation patients are being provided for free.

He also said vaccination for 18-44 years will also be free of cost now.

Earlier in another post the chief minister said the requirement of oxygen has suddenly jumped ever since second wave of this pandemic broke out. The state government is trying its best to arrange the oxygen from every source possible, he added.

He requests private industries or individuals having oxygen cylinders to donate to the government. “Your valuable donation could save a life in this pandemic. Once the situation improves, the government would happily return these cylinders with compensation,” he said.
