MOMA distributes water melons, vegetables to frontline warriors, feeds monkeys

Imphal: Manipur Organic Mission Manipur (MOMA) under the instruction of chief minister N. Biren distributed water melon and other vegetables to frontline warriors and fed water melons to monkeys.

The vegetables and water melons were bought from various farmers of the state by MOMA who have been facing problems on selling their vegetable produce due to Covid-19 second wave.

MOMA under department of horticulture and soil conservation took the initiatives to give benefit to the farmers who are suffering due to the pandemic and to motivate the frontline warriors who are fighting the increasing rate of Covid-19 cases.

The project director of MOMA, K. Devdutta Sharma said the vegetables and water melons were distributed to the police personnel of Singjamei police station, Imphal Police station, Lamphel police station and Porompat police station. Similar items were also distributed to the medical personnel of JNIMS, Porompat, Imphal East and RIMS, Lamphel, Imphal West.

The water melons were also fed to the monkey of Hanuman Thakur mandir, Mahabali, Imphal East.
