Covid-19 takes 15 more lives, infects 656

Imphal: Covid-19 has claimed 15 lives and infected 656 persons while 676 Covid-19 patients were discharged in 24 hours in Manipur.

State Covid-19 common control room on Friday said in the last 24 hours, 15 persons aged 40 years (female, Imphal East), 76 years (male, Imphal West), 58 years (male, Kangpokpi), 57 years (female, Kangpokpi), 35 years (male, Imphal West), 76 years (female, Imphal West), 64 years (male, Imphal West), 38 yrs (female, Imphal West), 39 years (male, Imphal West), 75 years (male, Imphal West), 56 years (male, Imphal West), 40 yrs (male, Imphal West), 68 years (female, Imphal West), 57 years (male, Imphal West) and 58 years (male, Imphal East) expired at Raj Medicity (2), CCC Kangpokpi (2), RIMS (5) and JNIMS (6) hospital respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 661, it added.

The new positive cases belonged to Imphal East (157), Imphal West (288), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (39), Kakching (45), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (71), Chandel (8), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (I), CAPF (2) and Kangpokpi (11).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

The recovered 676 Covid patients were discharged from CAPF (12), home isolation (515), RIMS (11), JNIMS (10), RD Wing (5), BB (16), NSU (19), SIM (26), Babina Speciality Hospital (7), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (11), Jivan Hospital (2), RAJMED (1), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (11), Ukhrul (6), Chandel (1), Senapati (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Jiribam ( I). 571 individuals which are reported today only due to various reasons.

The total number of recovered cases is considered as 1247 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP Team, Home Isolation Team and Hospitalization Team as on May 20, the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 42,565. The number of active cams is 6298. The recovery rate is 83.65 percent, it added.

8n the last 24 hours, a total of 1456 D-type oxygen cylinders and 355 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

The first consignment of 250 D-type cylinders out of the order of 2000 placed by government to manufacturer in Gujarat have arrived and received at Silchar. The funding of this 250 cylinders is through CSR contribution of NHIDCL.
9. 182 Type-D oxygen cylinders at Airforce base, Silchar ha N e been received by government on Friday. Out of these 105 are donated by SELCO foundation while remaining procured by Deputy Commissioners Kanijong, Churachandpur and Tamenglong, the control room said.

As per the latest information 335396 persons have been vaccinated.
