Covid curfew, restriction in Manipur extended till June 11

Imphal: Concerning the continuous rise in Covid-19 cases in Manipur the State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority has extended curfew and restrictions imposed in the state till June 11.

The state home department on Friday issued an order for the extension of curfew and containment restrictions.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20(2)(a) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, chief secretary Rajesh Kumar in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, declared extension of curfew in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul districts with limited permitted activities and the guidelines including restrictions on inter district movements in respect of the remaining Senapati, Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Pherzawl, Noney, Tamenglong and Jiribam districts for another 14 days with some additional permitted activities.

All secretariat offices to start functioning with e-office and physical attendance 15 percent staff from June 1. All directorate offices to start functioning with physical attendance 15 percent staff from the same day by taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour, the order of the home department said.

Departments like media, power, fire service, PHED, CAFPD, home, health, relief and DM,fForest, environment and climate change, finance and treasuries and police departments and district administration will continue to function as before, it added.

Vehicle workshops of goods trucks, Petrol tankers, LPG bullets etc outside the Imphal municipal area may open from 8 am to 3 pm on all days taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

Rice mills are also allowed to open subject to taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour, the order said.

Opening of local vegetable vendors are permitted from 7 am to 10 am for purchase by the locals on May 30, June 2, 5 and 8. The vegetable vendors should be seated at least 6-feet away from one another and should wear mask all the time.

Only one out of three grocery shops of the total shops in one location shall be allowed to open on rotational basis from 7 am to 10 am on the four permitted days,

If the shops or vending sheds are located in congested rows, then only alternate rows shall be allowed to open. Queue system should be adopted by all shops and vendors.

Whole sale shops of grocery and food Road essentials located in Thangal Bazaar and Masjid will be allowed to open from 7am to 12 noon as per schedule.

Life Insurance Corporation with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2:30 pm dispose time bound works, the order said.
