MOMA continues to promote farmers during Covid crisis

Imphal: Promoting the farmers of Manipur and motivating them to produce more amid Covid pandemic and intensified restriction, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under horticulture and soil conservation department bought 400 kilogram of gourd and 900 kilogram of pumpkin from the farmers of Tejpur, Kakching district.

The initiatives have been taking under the instruction of chief minister N. Biren to promote the farmers of Manipur who are suffering and facing problem for selling their agriculture product amid pandemic.

Farmer Jamini of Tejpur Mayai Leikai, Kakching district said the initiatives of MOMA is a good step for the farmers while they have been suffering.

She expressed appreciation that MOMA reach to the farmers ad bought their agriculture products at handsome rates.

The team of MOMA led by its project director, K. Devdutta Sharma has been continuing buying of agriculture products from various farmers of different areas of Manipur.

Agriculture products will be made available to the public at affordable rates under home delivery service, he said.

Meanwhile, Jamunalal Mangilal and Co distributed water melons to the people of Paona Bazar, and Thangal Bazar area who are suffering due to pandemic and intensified restriction. The water melons were bought from MOMA and were distributed without any cost.

Proprietor of Jamunalal Mangilal and Co, Hemanta Jain said the water melons were bought to promote the farmers of Manipur who are suffering due to pandemic. He said the water melons were distributed to the people residing to Paona Bazar, Thangal Bazar, Aloo gali and Khoyathong area.
