‘Sewa Hi Sanghrathan’ aims to help the needy during pandemic: Leishemba

Imphal: The purpose of celebrating the 7 years completion of NDA government in the country as ‘Sewa Hi Sanghrathan’ is to help the needy during the pandemic and not for celebrating with joy and merriment, Lok Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba said.

Leishemba was speaking in a voice note on the distribution of essential medical kits at community home isolation centre (CHIC) at Ningombam Junior high School, Imphal West on Sunday.

The CHIC was opened by Lainingthou Sang Sang Ningthou Dev.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to celebrate the completion of 7 years of NDA government by helping the needy at the time of pandemic instead of celebrating with joy and merriment, Leishemba said.

Covid second wave is more serious than the first wave. People should take extra necessary precautionary measures. Timely vaccination and testing can fight the virus easily within 14 days. People need not to get panic with the virus infection. However, for people who have chronic diseases should have regular health check-up before getting infected with Covid as it could prevent from serious illness, he added.

Biren led government has been taking necessary measures to prevent from the spread of the contagion. The government has been engaging doctors, nurses including medicine for those who are undergoing home isolation with free of cost. With the support from the public towards the initiatives of government the virus can be defeated, he added.

Leishemba handed over oximetre, face mask, hand sanitiser, hand glove, medicine and monetary assistance to the CHIC of Ningombam Junior high School, Imphal West.

He also distributed similar essential items at The Energetic Youth Development organisation, Samurou, Imphal West; Kongba Youth Organisation, Kongba Nongthombam leikai, Imphal East; Ghari Youth club, Imphal West and COVID task force of Morning Star Club, Yumnam Patlou, Imphal East.
