4 curfew violators found Covid-19 positive, Biren warns of strict punishment

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has warned that curfew violators will be given strict punishment, after four curfew violators were found positive for Covid-19 at Singjamei area on Tuesday.

“During its routine checking, the police have apprehended many curfew violators at Singjamei area today. On randomly conducting Covid test among 29 such curfew violators, 4 were found to be positive,” Biren said.

“This is a matter of very serious concern. To venture out irresponsibly during the curfew and endangering other people’s life will attract strict punishment under the law,” the chief minister cautioned.

He appealed to the people to stay home and do not venture unnecessarily. “For any assistance related to covid, please contact Covid helpline,” Biren said on his Facebook post.
