Assam Rifles organises tree plantation drive

Imphal: On the occasion of World Environment Day Somsai Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a tree plantation drive at Awangkasom village, Ukhrul towards promoting the ‘Go Green Intiative’.
The tree plantation drive was conducted with an aim to control the global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on the importance of clean environment.
As part of initiative, saplings were planted. During the event, the troops were educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium.
