Wuhan virus takes 12 lives, infects 748, frees 579 in a day

Imphal: Twelve Covid-19 patients expired while the contagion infected 748 new persons and freed 579 patients in 24 hours, in Manipur.

“In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 12 Covid 19 deaths,” state Covid-19 common controlroom said, on Tuesday.

The district wise distributions are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (2). The facility wise distributions are RIMS (2), JNIMS (1), Shija Hospital (5), Raj Medicity (2) and DH Churachandpur (2). The cumulative number of deaths is 908, it added.

The new positive cases belonged to Imphal East (162), Imphal West (205), Thoubal (120), Bishnupur (63), ICakching (52), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (66), Chandel (17), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (17), Kangpokpi (6), Kamjong (2), Pherzawl (4), Jiribam (17) and Noney (1).

The Covid-19 positivity rate as on Tuesday was 8.37 percent.

“Today, 579 persons were discharged, out of which 395 are from home isolation, 29 are from RIMS (25) and JNIMS (4) and the rest 155 are from other Covid care facilities,” the control room said.

It said the cumulative number of positive cases is 56,576; the cumulative number of recovered cases is 46,527; and the recovery rate is 82.23 percent.

As per latest information 435172 individuals have been vaccinated in the state.
