Imphal: Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Society has suspended a medical officer, Dr Pangambam Bohnson allegedly for assaulting a nurse on duty at JNIMS hospital Covid ward.
Dr Bohnson was suspended on Thursday after an inquiry.
He was appointed on daily honorarium basis in Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat, Imphal.
“The president, JNIMS Society hereby places Dr Pangambam Bohnson under suspension from duties with immediate effect,” an order issued by JNIMS director Th. Bhimo said.
During the period of this order, the headquarters of Dr Pangambam Bohnson should be Imphal and he shall not leave headquarter without obtaining previous permission of the JNIMS authority, the order said.
Dr Pangambam Bohnson shall also continue to be under administrative control of JNIMS and should abide by conduct rules. Dr. Pangambam Bohnson shall not be entitled to any emoluments during the duration of suspension, it added.
