Imphal: Even the Covid-19 deaths surge to 959 the positivity rate dropped to 6.96 percent in Manipur on Saturday as against the positivity rate of 8.78 percent recorded on Friday.
Out of 7958 Covid-19 test results 554 were found positive on Saturday.
The contagion claimed 15 more Covid-19 patients bringing up the cumulative death cases to 959 in the state.
The district wise distributions of the death cases were Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (2).
The new positive cases belonged to Imphal East (118), Imphal West (171), Thoubal (73), Bishnupur (35), Kakching (19), Ukhrul (I), Churachandpur (54), Chandel (14), Senapati (17), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (10), Kangpokpi (12), Pherzawl (2) and Jiribam (21).
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
“Today, 751 persons were discharged, out of which 535 are from home isolation, 39 are from RIMS (28) and JNIMS (11) and the rest 177 are from other Covid care facilities,” it added.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 59,322. The number of active cases is 8,710. The recovery rate is 83.70 percent, it said.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1454D-type oxygen cylinders and 434B- type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
District hospitals and government institutions have 412D, 94B filled cylinders out of these Bishnupur (65D,7B), Chandel (31D,7B), Churachandpur (85D,OB), Senapati (32D,OB), Thoubal (57D,20B), Ukhrul (32D,OB), Tamenglong (42D,21B), Jiribam(34D,10B), Moreh(8D,2B), Kankiong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (SD,OB), Kakching (10D,24B), Noney(2D,OB) and Pherzawl (6D,2B).
As per the latest information 464465 individuals have been vaccinated so far in Manipur.
