Imphal: In continuation of rendering necessary assistance to the needy people of Yaiskul assembly constituency since its 1st wave, Covid-19 task force of Yaiskul, Imphal has distributed ration materials and vegetables to 19 households under containment zones on Thursday.
Overall in-charge of the task force, Laimayum Rajeev said since the outbreak of Covid-19, 190 volunteers including three doctors have been providing necessary assistance to the people of the Constituency.
At the time of need for the volunteers are conducting contact tracing in order to break the chain of spreading corona virus among the people under the jurisdiction of the assembly constituency, he added.
In the second wave a total of 96 persons were tested positive and two infected persons were succumbed.
Out of positive cases 84 persons have been recovered and 10 persons are still yet to be recovered, Rajeev said.
He appealed the people of the assembly constituency to strictly follow SOPs and early vaccination in order to prevent spread of the contagion.
