Imphal: To assist the needy people affected due to the impact of intensified restriction in connection with Covid-19 pandemic, water resource minister Letpao Haokip and MLA of Chandel Assembly Constituency distributed one rice bag each to1500 households with monetary assistance of Rs 500 each on Wednesday.
The distribution of rice was also conducted at Sugnu area.
During the distribution conducted on Wednesday at Sokom Upper Primary school located under Chakpikarong sub-division, Letpao said people has been suffering due to intensified restriction imposed across the state to avoid Covid-19 infection.
To assist the needy persons he took the initiatives for distribution of rice, he added.
He said some people are spreading rumours against Covid-19 vaccination and appealed not to believe in such rumours.
There is no harm in vaccination and people should get the vaccination done early as it could prevent from the severe impact of the virus infection, he added.
