Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a Tree Plantation Drive at villages of Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Ukhrul and Noney districts of Manipur on Saturday.
The drive was organised with an aim to promote ‘Go Green Initiative’ and spread awareness about climate change and global warming among the troops.
During the drive, saplings of various types were planted. The troops were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium.
