Imphal: Assam Rifles troops along with Narcotics Control Bureau, foiled an attempt to smuggle in narcotics in Moreh on Sunday.
Based on intelligence inputs, troops of Assam Rifles and Narcotics Control Bureau intercepted two suspects traveling on a motorcycle at Check Post in Mission Veng.
On thorough checking of the motorcycle, 260 gm of Heroin worth Rs 57 lakh was recovered, the Assam Rifles said.
The two drug peddlers, motorcycle and the captured heroin were taken into custody by Narcotics Control Bureau for further legal proceedings, it added.
