Covid-19 takes 9 lives, infects 592, frees 494 patients

Imphal: Covid-19 has taken nine more lives while it infected 592 persons in 24 hours in Manipur.

On Wednesday, 494 persons were recovered.

The nine death cases belonged to Imphal West (3), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (2) and Kakching (1).

The new positive cases were from Imphal East (112), Imphal West (202), Thoubal (59), Bishnupur (56), Kakching (39), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (56), Chandel (17), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (2), Kamjong (10), Noney (1) Kangpokpi (12) and CAPF (12).

The positivity rate was 13.6 percent.

The recovered persons were discharged from Home Isolation (161), RIMS (28), JNIMS (6), CCCs (120) and CHICs (179).

The cumulative number of deaths is 1150. The cumulative number of positive cases is 69,790. The number of active cases is 6,012. The recovery rate is 89.73 percent, the state Covid-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1135 D-type oxygen cylinders and 404 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.

A total of 647632 persons (1st dose 563662 and 2nd dose 83970) have been vaccinated so far.

The government is planning to relax the Covid-19 related restrictions in a safe and calibrated manner based on the number of vaccinated workers and socio-economic importance of the establishment. Therefore all eligible workers and related individuals are requested to get vaccinated at the earliest, the control room said.
