Cross border smuggling foiled

Imphal: Troops of Moreh Battalion under the aegis of IGAR(South) foiled cross border smuggling in Moreh on Wednesday.

During an operation near H Munnom village in Moreh, the troops observed bags dumped in thick foliage along the Indo Myanmar Border. On thorough checking of the area 56 bags containing 3920 Kgs of poppy seeds worth Rs 2.7 crore were recovered.

The recovered items have been handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Moreh for further action.
