Covid-19 takes 8 lives, infects 643 persons, frees 602 patients

Imphal: Covid-19 has claimed eight more lives in 24 hours pushing the Covid-19 related deaths tally to 1196 in Manipur on Sunday.

The contagion infected 643 persons in 24 hours cumulating the positive cases figure to 72,286.

The fresh cases belonged to Imphal East (145), Imphal West (242), Thoubal (76), Bishnupur (58), Kakching (10), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (65), Chandel (15), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (2), Kangpokpi (13) and CAPF (6).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

“In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 8 Covid 19 deaths. The District wise distributions are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Bishnupur (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Churachandpur (2),” it said.

A total of602 persons were discharged on this day from home isolation (226), RIMS (23), JNIMS (3), CCCs (116) and CHICs (234).

The number of active cases is 6,159. The recovery rate is 89.82 percent, the control room said.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 2194 D-type oxygen cylinders and 361 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur, it added.

It said 23368 persons were vaccinated on Saturday. The cumulative figure of vaccinated persons was 729061 (1st dose 643311 and 3nd dose 85750).
