Shiv Sena to file PIL

Imphal: Shiv Sena will file a public interest litigation (PIL) at the court for not allowing people of eight Assembly segments of Kakching district to contest in Assembly election, Shiv Sena, Manipur president M. Tombi said on Sunday.

Tombi told reporters, here, that the present scenario of the Assembly segments of Kakching district is violation of people rights that such type of policy is not implemented on any other parts of the country.

To get the rights for the people of the eight Assembly segments the political party will filed a PIL immediately, he added.

The state Shiv Sena party will give priority to woman intending candidate for the coming general assembly election. If women are elected as representatives then they could be the mouth piece for women on the assembly floor and help in empowering women, he said.

He said in the coming election people should use their rights for the right candidates who are energetic and have potential to bring development but not to those candidates who come out after retired from their government services.

He appealed the people not to exchange their voting rights for money. The momentary pleasure enjoyed during the time of elections could not be the value for the voting rights, he added.

People should avoid spreading rumours for Covid vaccination in order to get political mileage. Early vaccination will be the only thing to safe a life from the contagion. He appealed to the people to get vaccinated to finish Covid-19 before its 3rd wave advents.

The present issue on ration under National Food Security Act card is due to past government. The past government failed to issue NFSA card to every people in order to get their own benefit and due to the reason people suffer at this pandemic times.

He appealed the state government to monitor those Assembly Constituencies that do not have MLAs as people of such Assembly Constituencies are suffering amid pandemic.
