Imphal: A team of Imphal East Police of Manipur on Wednesday nabbed three drug peddlers along with heroin powder from Kyamgei Shantipur.
The district police team rushed to Lilong Kaleikhong area acting on a ‘reliable’ information of movement of drug traffickers.
When the police team reached the spot at about 1.30 pm it tried to stop one four wheeler car (Honda Ciaz) bearing registration number MN06LA-8818. The car tried to escape from the police team however the police team manage to stop the car.
The police team found three occupants were found inside the car identified themselves as Md Taslimuddin, 25, alias Taslim son of Md Ejaoddin of Lilong Tairen Makhong, Thoubal; Md Mujibur alias Rafique, 46, son of late Md Abdul Manan alias Iboyai of Lilong Haoreibi Sambrukhong, Thoubal and Md Fazul Haque, 25, son of late Md Nashib Ali of Lilong Chandakhong, Thoubal.
On further examination of the vehicle, 11 soap caps containing suspected Heroin powder weighing 150 gm; one wallet containing Rs 1,180 and two smart phones were recovered from their possession.
The seized drugs were estimated to be worth around Rs 30 lakh in the international market.
The three persons were arrested and handed over to Irilbung police station along with the seizures for further necessary action.
