Manipur government to provide food to inmates in Covid Care centres

Imphal: Manipur government has set to provide food to inmates in Covid Care centres with immediate effect.

With the widespread prevalence of Delta variant of Covid-19 in Manipur, there is an urgent need to reduce contacts with positive persons, an order of the state government said on Friday.

The CMO and medical superintendent in-charge of the Covid Care centres shall identify caterers to provide balanced diet (lunch and dinner) to the inmates. From past experience, cost of one meal should be about Rs. 100-130, the order said.

All hospitals are expected to provide meals to in-patients admitted in their hospital. It is reiterated here that all Covid patients admitted in hospitals should also be provided balanced diet by the hospital regularly, it added.

With this food arranged by government, patient party or family should not visit patients in the Covid Care centres or Covid hospitals, the government order said.
