Police continue seizing liquor amid Covid crisis

Imphal; A team of Imphal West Police commando seized about 327 litres of distilled indigenous country (DIC) liquors at about 11.30 am on Sunday.

The DIC liquors that is 399 bottles (500 ml) and 128 bottles (1 litre) were seized from the possession of two individuals named as Khagokpam Deepak Singh, 27, son of Kh. Tomba Singh of Khurai Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai and Phuritsabam Ashakiran Singh, 48, son of Ph Manglemba Singh of Uripok Bahaspati Maning Leikai at Chingmeirong. The liquors were detected from their car (Hyundai Creata) marron in colour without registration number.

The two persons along with the seizures were handed over to excise department, Lamphal for further necessary action, police said.

Nongpok Sekmai Police also conducted liqour drive at Nongpok sekmai and Toubul area. One DIC liquor seller, Maibam Angouyai singh, 46, son of M. Ladu Singh of Ukhongshang Mamang Leikai was apprehended along with 40 litres of DIC liquor from his possession.
