Narcotics worth Rs 10 crore seized in bust


Imphal: ​Loktak battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in a joint operation with Manipur Police, busted a narcotics trafficking rung in Churachandpur, Manipur on Wednesday.

Based on intelligence inputs, troops of Assam Rifles and Churachandpur Police intercepted a car with three persons moving on NH 2 near Kangvai at midday of the day.

​On thorough checking of the vehicle, nearly 2.5 kg of high grade Heroin worth was seized from the vehicle. The cost of the narcotics seized is assessed to be worth nearly Rs 10 crore, the Assam Rifles said.

​The three narcotics traffickers were apprehended by the joint team and taken to Churachandpur Police station for further legal proceedings, it added.
