Imphal: Senapati Police recovered 15 packets suspected to be methamphetamine, locally known as Ice drug, weighing 1 kg each and 9975 WY tablets from a truck at Henbung.
The drugs were recovered when a team of police conducted frisking and checking on Wednesday morning at Hengbung taxation area along NH-2. They were found in a truck bearing registration number WB65B9503.
The truck was going to Dimapur and was driven by one Md. Azad Khan, 21 years son of Md.Oli of Lilong Ushoipokpi,Thoubal district.
The approximate value of the recovered Ice drug is Rs 30 crore and WY is Rs 50 lakh, the source said.
Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh posted this information on his Facebook wall stating “WAR ON DRUGS:- well done senapati police team”.
