Covid-19 takes 16 lives, infects 774 persons

Imphal: Sixteen died of Covid-19, 774 persons confirmed positive for the contagion and 741 patients were recovered in Manipur as on Monday.

“In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid-19 deaths Audit Committee has reported 16 Covid-19 deaths. The district wise distributions are Imphal West (5), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (4), Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

The total Covid-19 related death cases has risen to 1392 in the state.

The positive cases were confirmed out of 4339 samples test results released on this day. The positivity rate was 17.8 percent.

The fresh cases belonged to Imphal East (230), Imphal West (217), Thoubal (83), Bishnupur (84), Kakching (38), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (46), Chandel (15), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (17), Tengnoupal (5), Pherzawl (5), Kamjong (3) Kangpokpi (20) and CAPF (1).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

The recovered patients were discharged from home isolation (324), RIMS (29), JNIMS (7), CCCs (144) and CHICs (237).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 85,596. The number of active cases is 9,693. The recovery rate is 87.04 percent, the control room said.

It said in the last 24 hours, a total of 2004 D-type oxygen cylinders and 315 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.

So far till Sunday a cumulative dose of 1043504 (1st dose of 929764 and 2nd dose of 113740) have been administered.

The number of patients as on Sunday admitted against available bed strengths in different treatment facilities in the state are RIMS (230/224), JNIMS (245/286), I Land Hospital (38/60), District Covid Facilities (169/347), MSF (24/30), Private Covid Hospitals (244/310) and CCCs (1600/2986). The grand total of admitted patients is 2550 and number of beds available is 1764, the control room said.
