Liquor home delivery boys nabbed

Imphal: Three persons involved in liquor home delivery service business were nabbed by Imphal West Police and apologised to public that they will discontinue the service which they knew is against the law.

The three persons have been identified as Rojit Chongtham of Singjamei Mathak Chongtham Leikai; Moirangthem Boon of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai and Moirangthem Jawan Meetei of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai of Imphal West district.
The three persons were picked up from their residence on Monday.

Rojen delivers liquor of all types to various customers of Imphal area through phone call which he uploaded in social media under the name “Sat2 Delivery”. He delivers the liquor within 5 kilometre of the Imphal area by charging Rs 50 for delivery.

He confessed to public through a video clip issued from the district police department that he will discontinue the service as selling of alcohol is illegal in the state.

Boon and Jawan were also detained for doing similar delivery service under the name “Brother’s liquor”.

They also confessed to the public through a video clip issued by Imphal West district police that they will discontinue the service as selling of alcohol is illegal in the state.
