Manipur records highest single day spike of 1327 Covid-19 positive cases with 15 deaths

Imphal: Manipur on Wednesday witnessed highest single day spike of 1327 Covid-19 positive cases and 15 deaths including one vaccinated patient.

The positive cases werefrom Imphal East (351), Imphal West (400), Thoubal (124), Bishnupur (77), Kakching (106), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (94), Chandel (38), Senapati (10), Tamenglong (35), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (17), Noney (27), Pherzawl (2), Kamjong (12), Kangpokpi (22) and CAPF (1).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

The new death cases belonged to Imphal West (3), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (6), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1).

The cumulative number of deaths is 1424, the control room said.

“Out of 15 deaths, 7 persons had co-morbidities. Out of 15 deaths, only 1 of them was vaccinated (Ist dose),” it added.

“Today, 1032 persons were discharged. They are from Home Isolation (407), RIMS (18), JNIMS (16), CCCs (241) and CHICs (350),” it said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 88,050. The number of active cases is 10,347. The recovery rate is 86.63 percent, it added.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1676 D-type oxygen cylinders and 406 B- type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.

Till Tuesday a cumulative doses of 1090922 (1st dose of 965342 and 2nd dose of 125580) had been administered.
