‘Congress begins preparation for Assembly Elections’

Imphal: Preparation for the coming 2022 Assembly Election has begun, the roadmap for the coming elections will be wind up in the next seven days, All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge Manipur, Bhakta Charan Das said on Thursday.

Das was speaking during a media interaction held at state Congress Bhavan, here.

The post Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president be filled soon as the resignation of Congress MLA Govindas Konthoujam has been received.

He said the present state BJP has no constitutional right to sit in power and there is no question of joining Congress MLAs to BJP. Such type of issues and discussion has no value as BJP do not give priority to bring welfare for the people but to remain in power.

He said they do not have constitutional rights to appoint 12 parliamentary secretaries. He appealed the 12 parliamentary secretaries to respect the situation and the constitutional rights.

After July 26 Congress party will let the people know to take necessary steps for the betterment of the people of Manipur, Das said.
