MACS invites journalists for media fellowship

Imphal: The Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) invites eligible journalists based in Manipur to apply for a 6-month media fellowship to write and publish news reports on HIV and AIDS.

The fellowship is open to journalists working in print media with minimum 3-years’ experience in journalism.

Applicants should apply along with Bio-data; a letter of support from the Editor that the output under the fellowship will be published (mandatory for all the candidates); and a brief proposal outlining the subject and story ideas that the applicant proposes to focus, if selected for the fellowship.

They should submit at least three samples of work published earlier on HIV/AIDS. (Preference will be given to latest published works).

Freelancers can also apply subject to fulfillment the conditions.

Duration of the fellowship is September 2021 to February 2022.

Two journalists will be selected for the fellowship. Selected fellows will receive stipend of Rs 50,000 only to support research, travel and writing in two installments.

The last date of submission is Saturday, August 7.

The selection of applicants will be done by a jury of MACS officials.

Selected applicants from the print media will be expected to generate eight news stories of 1,500 word each, based on the research carried out under the fellowship.

Original clippings of these stories will have to be submitted on the completion of the fellowship programme.
