Shiv Sena urges not to give ticket to candidates who frequently shifts to different parties

Imphal: State Shiv Sena Manipur unit has urged all the political parties not to give any ticket for the coming Manipur Assembly elections to those intending candidates who frequently shift to political parties for their vested interest as it could ruin Manipur if they are elected.

Maniuur president Shiv Sena M. Tombi on Monday told reporters that people should avoid from those intending candidates who are doing cheap politics for their vested interest including against those intending candidates who even cannot be in opposition bench for five years.

State Shiv Sena will give priority for the coming election ticket to the women intending candidate. The party is planning to produce 12-20 candidates for the coming election, he added.

He appealed the people not to support to those candidates who are retired government employees and who are already rich.

“To root out corruption the public need to take initiatives by not taking money distributed to the people by candidates,” Tombi said.

Four persons joined Shiv Sena. One of them was Thangjam Shyam Singh who was former president of state Youth Congress. He also contested in election conducted in 1995,1997 and 2000 under congress ticket and again in 2002 at BJP ticket.

The three others were Okram Ibohanbi, former additional chief organiser in Manipur Pradesh Congress Seva Dal; Senjam Mangoljao former advisor of Manipur Pradesh Seva Dal and Thokchom Bhubon former Pradhan and working as Manipur State Panchayat secretary.
