Imphal: United Development Committee (UDC) president Md Zafer Ali demanded the state government to book the culprits involved in the Leishangthem Khong Manung incident occurred on July 20.
The committee president said the committee strongly condemned the heinous act carried by the people of Leishangthem Khong Manung against late MV Riyashad Ali alias Boycha, 22, son of Md Mani Khan of Sangaiyumpham Part-1.
During the incident two of the companions of the deceased were also beaten severely however the two were survived, it added.
The state government should find out the culprits involved during the incident immediately. Delay tactics in booking the culprits is to invite a public riot. UDC will take it serious that government and authority concerned are still silent to book the culprits, it said.
UDC will initiate intensified form of agitation in support of the joint action committee formed in connection with the incident if the government fails to book the culprits or to take necessary steps immediately, it added.
