Imphal: Manipur Cabinet on Saturday decided to discontinue curfew and adopt micro containment zone approach, in line with central government advisories.
The state Cabinet in its meeting expressed gratitude to central government for promptly deputing a Multi Disciplinary Expert Team on Covid-19 to Manipur, in response to request made.
The Cabinet carefully reviewed the curfew imposed for 21 days to control the Covid transmission, a statement released by the health department said.
The curfew was last extended till Saturday.
“To maintain balance with livelihood and economic activities, it was decided to discontinue curfew and adopt micro containment zone approach, in line with central government advisories,” it said.
Gram Panchayats, village authorities, local clubs, etc. will be fully involved by deputy commissioners in ensuring strict micro containment zones and isolation of fresh positive cases. All public are requested to adopt Covid Appropriate Behaviour to fully control Covid pandemic in Manipur, it added.
