Appropriate action will be taken against black marketing of fertilizers: Lukhoi

Imphal: Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh has cautioned to take up befitting action if anyone is found selling fertiliser in black market.

Lukhoi appealed to the farmers and all concern stakeholders to inform the department if anyone is found indulging in black marketing fertilizers.

The Minister on Monday distributed urea fertilizers to the farmer of Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Bishnupur district at Kumbi Ibudhou Sandong under the aegis of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Bishnupur district.

He announced that eight thousand bags of fertilisers will be provided for 2nd phase at the earliest.

Under the supervision of DAO and district administration, Bishnupur district, altogether, 1, 695 bags of fertilizers were handed over to the recognised farmers and ensured to hand over more bags of fertilisers in the coming days.

Lukhoi expressed that the government fully acknowledges the grievances of farmers and their demands to receive the fertilisers during this Kharif season. Agriculture department always strives to meet the requirements of our farmers in the state.

He informed that the department has relevant documents for those farmers who have already received the fertilisers and for farmers who are yet to get urea. He assured that the department is striving towards providing fertilisers to all the farmers as necessary arrangements are being done to procure reserved fertilisers.
