Over 5000 saplings planted

Imphal: Manipur forest department and police department on Thursday planted more than 5000 saplings at Kanglatongbi and Kangkpokpi Reserve Forest area of Manipur.

The mass plantation was taken up under the theme “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

It was done under the supervision of Dr AK.Joshi, IFS PCCF and HoFF and L.Lukhoi singh, CCF/ T-I, DFO and SP Kangkpokpi.

Police officers and personnel from Kangkpokpi district numbering 80 and 120 personnel from other police units from Imphal also participated in the plantation programme.

Highlighting the information chief minister N. Biren Singh posted on his Facebook wall, “We should plant more trees….Please continue to save forest and environment.”
