IGAR (South) greets Manipur people

Imphal: ​On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, major general Alok Naresh, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extend warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur.

The general officer exhorted all citizen to reminisce with gratitude and deep reverence the sacrifices of freedom fighters in pursuit of gaining freedom and founders of our nation in establishing a republic.

​On this important national day he called upon citizen from all walks of life to work together towards creating an inclusive society instilled with nationalism, compassion and forbearance that promotes peace and harmony in the state.

​He also called upon the youth to rededicate themselves to the society with a firm resolve to eschew violence and intolerance in all forms and make our great republic, an abode filled with love, peace and tranquility.

“​May the lord almighty bless all so that we may move forward with renewed energy and vigor to achieve the common goal of nation’s progress,” he said.

​Assam Rifles battalions of IGAR(South) organised Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 at various locations in Manipur on 13 August to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav being organised to mark 75 years of India’s Independence.

​The event was organised with an aim to promote the Fit India Freedom and motivate troops to stay physically fit. The program aims to encourage people to include atleast 30 minutes of physical activity in their daily lives.
