2 nabbed with 24 kg WY


Imphal: A team of NAB police arrested two inter-state drug traffickers from Mantripukhri near the gate of New Sccretariat building along NH-2 on Monday.

One of the drug traffickers was identified as Md. Abdul Joynul, 49, son of Md. Abdul Jabar of Kwakta Makha Leikai, Bishnupur district.

The source did not identify the other person.

Twenty bundles of WY tablets weighing 24.07 kg, estimated to be about 200, 000 tablets and the Tata truck bearing registration number NL-01G-7464 in which the drugs were carried, were seized.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the drugs were procured from Moreh, made the concealment in the truck at Kwakta in Bishnupur district and being transported to Dimapur.

In this regard a case has been registered at Narcotics and Affairs of Border, Police station for further investigation.
