Covid-19 claims 4 lives, infects 386 persons

Imphal: Covid-19 has taken four lives and infected 386 persons in 24 hours in Manipur as on Tuesday.

The four Covid-19 victims belonged to Imphal West (2), Imphal East (I) and Chandel (1).

The cumulative number of deaths is 1759. “Out of 4 deaths, 2 persons had co-morbidities and 1 of them had 1st dose of Covid vaccine,” Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

In the past 24 hours, 386 persons were confirmed as new positive cases. They were from Imphal East (59), Imphal West (153), Thoubal (15), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (30), Ulthrul (14), Churachandpur (50), Chandel (5), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (14), Noney (2), Pherzawl (21), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (2) and CAPF (1).

“Today, 478 persons were discharged. They are from Home Isolation (198), RIMS (2), JNIMS (14), CCCs (152) and CHICs (112),” the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,11,598. The number of active cases is 3,610. The recovery rate is 95.18 percent, it added.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1467 D-type oxygen cylinders and 351 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.

The cumulative number of vaccinated persons in the state was 1488264.
