Assam Rifles foils cross border smuggling

Imphal: ​Kakching battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) foiled cross border smuggling of contrabands near Wangkhera village on Wednesday.

During border domination operation, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted three vehicles near Wangkhera village. On checking of the vehicles betel nuts, cigarettes and foreign beer worth Rs 21 Lakhs were recovered.

​The seized contraband and four smugglers were handed over to Custom Department, Pallel for further legal action, the Assam Rifles said.
