Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh announced to the team that busted a drug manufacturing unit at Yairipok in Thoubal district and seized huge quantity of suspected brown sugar and opium worth Rs 90 crore in the international market.
“There will be zero tolerance for anyone who is involved with illicit drugs in Manipur, Biren said declaring te reaward on his Facebook wall.
A team comprising Narcotic Cell, Imphal East Police, Thoubal Police assisted by district administration officials and volunteers of Youth Athletic Development Association nabbed one Md. Mujibur Rahman, 42, for running a Brown Sugar manufacturing unit at his residence in Yairipok Tulihal Awang Leikai.
“Excellent job by everyone involved in the operation. The team will be given a reward of Rs 10 lakh along with commendation,” Biren said.
