Imphal: United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur (UARSoM)along with deputy commissioner Imphal west is organising a mass Covid vaccination programme for teaching and non teaching staff of schools in Imphal west at Kindergarden Montessori School Takyel Kolom leikai on Sunday.
The vaccination will begin at 10. 30 am it covers staff of both private and government schools and their family members as well, a release issued by UARSoM said on Friday.
The association appealed to all the staff of the schools to get vaccinated on the day.
It said, “Vaccination programme will be an important step in the efforts taken up by the state government to reopen the schools in the state at the earliest.”
UARSoM also appealed to all the schools to extend cooperation to the initiatives of the government to reopen the schools which have remained closed due to the pandemic.
The statement by UARSoM comes a day after the state government had asked the director of university and higher education, registrars of Dhanamanjuri and Manipur Technical Univeristy, controller of technical education and joint director SCERT Manipur to submit a detailed report on level of vaccination in each school and college at the earliest.
